Apocalypse Mania vol 2, Experiment IV, by Laurent-Frédéric Bollée (scenario) and Philippe Aymond (art and colour).
Volume 2 continues the threads started in vol.1. The beams disappear for a little while as the Earth breathes a collective sigh of relief… only to see them reappear after a short while. Experiments are conducted with various results. Jacob, Hannah and Ardell try to get close to the beams to solve the mystery against the active opposition of different agencies as well as the ONU. An endeavour that quite explosively doesn’t end well for them.
The story is still engaging so far, still gorgeous, but we’re still in the early stages. I’m deadly curious about what happened to the Arctic mission that went into the beam with a camera. There’d better be some footage in the series future. (Look at me writing this as if I hadn’t already finished the entire series, muhahahaHAH !)
Also, General Smith is James Coburn. Hee.
… well, to be fair, he was already in vol. 1. *kof*
I give it a 4 stars.
From volume 2 pages 26 & 33.
